Florida Same Sex Marriage

The State of Florida will recognize same-sex marriage as of January 6, 2015.  According to the Palm Beach Post and ACLU Florida, the State of Florida has abandoned the fight to prohibit equality for same-sex couples. Effective January 6, 2015, all 67 counties in Florida will issue marriage licenses to same-sex applicants. Further, when the ruling takes effect on January 6, all out of state marriages entered into by same-sex couples must be recognized by the State for all purposes, including state health, pension, and other benefits. All clerks must (should) begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
