The State of Florida will recognize same sex marriage as of January 6, 2015. According to the Palm Beach Post and ACLU Florida , the State of Florida has abandoned the fight to prohibit equality for same sex couples. Effective January 6, 2015 all 67 counties in Florida will issue marriage licenses to same sex applicants. Further, when the ruling takes effect on January 6, all out of state marriages entered into by same-sex couples must be recognized by the State for all purposes, including state health, pension and other benefits. All clerks must (should) begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
